  21. Well, for your sake, don't join the military.  During basic training, 
  22. you are often punished because of the actions of others.  It does 2 
  23. things - (1) Make it so that you don't do dumb things, because you 
  24. know what it feels like when you are punished for somebody else's dumb 
  25. things  (2) If you are continuously doing dumb things, you're comrades 
  26. around you 'give you a little insentive' to quit doing those things.

  28. What is going on in #amiga with site bans is quite the same thing.  
  29. When a person comes on, does dumb stuff, and is kicked, take it as a 
  30. severe warning to 'knock it off'.  If they rejoin and do it again, 
  31. their adress will be banned (*!Joe_User@*.internet.net).  If they 
  32. rejoin with another login name, then the whole site is banned 
  33. (*!*@*.internet.net).  Mr. Poag is one such person who does this - he 
  34. often comes on with different logons, thus he cannot be banned by 
  35. himself.  The ban is a direct result of his actions, and the ban on 
  36. other users from his site is the 'punishment' that everyone else 
  37. gets.  Take this punishment seriously... EMail your INet provider and 
  38. have his account killed, or at least his IRC access removed.  When 
  39. this happens, the Ops in #amiga would be glad to remove the site ban.

  41. The simple fact is this - the argument is getting old.  This thread, 
  42. or at least other like it, have been going on for quite some time.  
  43. And the simple fact remains - if you don't like what is going on in 
  44. EfNet #amiga, don't go there!  IRC is a privilege to use, and IRC Ops 
  45. and Channel Ops are there to give some kind of support to the 
  46. controlled chaos in there.  Its is a type of 'government'.  But with 
  47. all governments, some people will be upset.  Get used to it - its 
  48. called reality.  If you can't handle whats going on in #amiga, or 
  49. treat it as the minor thing it is, then I suggest that you go out into 
  50. the real world and see how it works.
